Be part of our community

By becoming a GALA member, you’ll join a community of passionate people of all sexualities, genders, and identities who will support and inspire you to strengthen your local chorus and larger community. 

You’ll be able to join us at Festival, the largest LGBTQIA+ choral event in the world featuring five days of singing, connecting, and creating a joyful celebration of pride and hope. 

And through your membership, you’ll enable us to keep building the community-wide advocacy and resources – including those provided for free to all who need them – that benefits the collective work we all strive to do in our local communities and the change we hope to foster in the world.

Chorus Membership

Any community chorus located in the Americas that is committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community is eligible for membership in GALA Choruses. We accept choruses without discrimination by nonprofit status, organizational structure, number of singers, annual budget, voicing, or geographic location.

Chorus Membership Cost

The annual membership dues for each chorus within the United States are determined by the size of its annual budget. Choruses in Canada pay a flat rate of $208 USD, and choruses located in Latin America pay a flat rate of $155 USD. Youth choruses will not be charged any annual dues.

The cost structure of the membership dues is reviewed annually. Any changes made to the membership dues amounts or structure will be communicated at least 6 months before they take effect.

Individual Membership

Any individual who is committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community is eligible for membership in GALA Choruses. We accept individual members without discrimination by sexuality, gender, race, religion, or any other identities.

The best way to become an individual member is to join one of our member choruses!

Each person who’s part of one of our member choruses, as a singer or otherwise, automatically becomes an individual member of GALA Choruses as well. To find a member chorus near you, browse our member directory.
