What's Staying & Changing in 2028

The Festival livestream will be available for additional purchase at the time of registration.
To allow more options at Festival, we have been exploring an exciting new performance venue in addition to our current options. More information as it is confirmed!
The 2028 Festival will have an exciting new logo and visual brand, to be revealed at a later date.
In an effort to simplify concert attendance for non-delegates, you will be able to purchase day passes instead of single concert tickets.
We will have more GALA Choruses merchandise available for preorder while maintaining a limited selection of merchandise that will be available on-site.
To reduce the strain of bringing physical inventory to Festival, we have retired consignment sales but will provide a landing page for any chorus to sell directly from your chorus shop.
As a means of increasing equity, we have started work to increase documentation and materials in Spanish.
We will now have a new option to pay for registration in up to six installments. All installments must be completed by March 31, 2028.
We are offering a series of webinars to help disseminate information for the separate components of Festival. The schedule is on our website and will be continuously updated.
We are working with our sibling organizations—the Sister Singers Network, the American Choral Directors Association, and Chorus America to deepen our collaboration and provide more opportunities for our membership.

Help Every Chorus Get to Festival 2028 — Donate to the Festival Inclusion Fund

We want Festival 2028 to be our largest, most diverse one yet — and that includes our choruses with less funds available to enable them to make the trip. GALA Choruses is building a fund to offset registration costs for our members with financial need. Whether they've only just joined since Festival 2024 or they've been in GALA Choruses for years yet never made it to Festival, whether they're based in North, South, or Central America, we will assist as much as we are able so that no chorus has to miss Festival simply due to a lack of resources. We invite all who are able to donate to contribute and help gather as much of our LGBTQIA+ and allied choral community as possible when we meet again in Minneapolis in less than two years.

If You've Never Been To Festival

You will have the opportunity to met, network, and bond with LGBTQIA+ people from your chorus and with singers from all over the world
You will be part of the largest LGBTQIA+ choral event in the world (in 2024, we had over 7,500 delegates at the Festival!)
You will have the opportunity to attend workshops to help your chorus continue to improve, grow, and/or thrive

We have more than 20 new choruses who have joined GALA since 2024 and you will be able to see many of them make their Festival debut
We will premiere several new commissions

There will be an entirely new slate of Coffee Concerts, Blockbusters, and (some) new Festival Choruses
You will be able to continue supporting the Twin Cities community
