What is Festival?
Festival is GALA Choruses’ signature event—and the largest LGBTQIA+ choral event in the world—that takes place every four years in a different city. LGBTQIA+ choruses from all over the Americas and beyond gather for five days of singing, connecting, and creating. It’s wall-to-wall concerts, workshops, social events, joy and pride. It’s you with thousands of your peers taking over a city and filling it with song. Starting with the first Festival in 1983, we’ve held 11 Festivals in eight cities throughout the United States and Canada—Festival 2028 will be the twelfth.

2024 Festival Highlights
- 122 choruses and 50 ensembles representing 9 countries from 3 continents
- Programming included 200 performances in addition to leadership workshops, a youth chorus track, and opportunities featuring local individuals and group
- ASL interpreters for all Blockbuster concerts and many other concerts
- More BIPOC delegates and young people in attendance
