Founded in 1983, GALA Choruses brings together LGBTQIA+ choruses from around the world to transform lives and build community through music. For more than four decades, GALA has empowered singers, conductors, and arts leaders to use their voices not only to create beautiful performances, but to advance equality, visibility, and belonging. In communities where LGBTQIA+ people may feel isolated or unheard, GALA Choruses amplifies the message that no one sings alone—and that every voice matters.
Your support fuels programs that strengthen choruses and amplify their impact. Donations provide leadership training, including our annual Symposium, and resources for chorus leaders, such as the GALA 411 Program, the New Harmony Workbook, and the Journal of Queer Studies. They expand access to Festival and foster learning opportunities that connect singers across borders, and support youth and emerging singers as they find confidence, community, and pride through music. Contributions also sustain advocacy efforts that uplift LGBTQ+ voices on global stages and preserve a powerful legacy of resilience, joy, and social change.
