Festival 2028 will be an extraordinary opportunity for our community to come together again for music, connection, learning, and celebration. We are planning for approximately 7,850 delegates in Minneapolis and are working to create an experience that is both exceptional and accessible to as many members of our community as possible.
The cost of producing Festival has increased significantly since 2024. Overall Festival expenses are projected to increase by approximately 33%, while the cost of producing Festival per paid delegate is expected to increase by approximately 30%.
For Festival 2028, Early Delegate Registration will be $399, Regular Registration will be $475, and Late Registration will be $575. Senior and Disabled delegates will continue to receive discounted registration, with rates of $349, $425, and $525, while Youth Registration will remain $175 at every registration deadline.
The Chorus Registration fee is $550 and the Ensemble Registration fee is $390.
These registration rates reflect both the rising cost of producing Festival and Festival's important role in supporting GALA Choruses' work, programs, and services throughout the four years between Festivals. Our goal is to ensure that Festival 2028 provides an extraordinary experience for our community while also strengthening GALA Choruses for the years that follow.
We also want to provide delegates and choruses with greater flexibility in planning for Festival. For the first time, Festival registration may be paid in installments over six months, allowing individuals and choruses to spread registration costs over a longer period. All installment payments will need to be completed by March 31, 2028.
Streaming will continue to be available as a separate purchase, allowing delegates and supporters to choose whether it is right for them. In 2024, more than 5,270 streaming packages were purchased, demonstrating the value of being able to experience Festival performances beyond the concert hall. For Festival 2028, streaming will begin at $59 during early registration, with regular and late rates of $75 and $100. Streaming expands the reach of Festival to friends, family members, chorus communities, and others who cannot experience every performance in person, while also giving Festival participants greater access to the extraordinary breadth of performances taking place throughout the week.
These decisions are designed to balance affordability and accessibility with the resources necessary to produce an extraordinary Festival and ensure that GALA Choruses remains strong throughout the next four-year cycle. We are incredibly excited to welcome thousands of singers, musicians, leaders, and supporters to Minneapolis for Festival 2028.
If you are performing on-stage, you are required to register as a delegate. The early-bird delegate registration fee for individuals is $399. Discounts are available for Seniors (65 and older), Disabled (if you receive government benefits), and Youth (21 and younger) delegates. See the pricing table below.
