Cris Williamson and Seattle Women’s Chorus
Dennis Coleman, Artistic Director
Tuesday, July 15
Hilton Hotel Ballroom
11:00 am
The Seattle Women’s Chorus has joined forces with women’s music legend Cris Williamson to create a concert program highlighting the best of Cris’ work.
First appearing on the music scene in the 1970s, Williamson’s record The Changer and the Changed was one of the top selling independent albums when released, and is still considered to be THE classic women's music album. A charismatic performer, Williamson’s soulful lyrics and dynamic music have been empowering audiences for over 30 years. In addition to captivating listeners, Williamson’s music has paved the way for today’s independent women artists and cultivated the rise of an entire genre of music.
You can hear Cris and the 100+ voices of Seattle Women’s Chorus in a special concert event scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th at 11:00 am in the Symphony Ballroom of the Hilton Hotel. This is for all Festival attendees. Cris is interested in performing with other GALA Choruses and arranger Lori Surrency will make the music available for women’s, men’s or mixed choruses. Here are a few of the selections to be performed:
